Introduction

To encourage youngsters’ to express their learning and appreciation of Chinese culture and wisdom in Confucian classics by means of writing essays and drawing picture books.

Outcome

165 writing essays and 35 drawing picture books received in this competition. The winning and outstanding works launched as a special publication by the organizer.

Target Group

Aged 14-18 Chinese and non-Chinese youngsters around the globe.

Groups of the Competition

Literature Group: all essays should be written in Chinese.

Picture Book Group: the text and captions for pictures should be written in Chinese or English.

Awards

Champion, 1^st runner-up and 2^nd runner-up for each group.

Prizes

Cash awards:

Champion: 500 U.S. Dollars

1^st runner-up: 300 U.S. Dollars

2^nd runner-up: 200 U.S. Dollars

Trophies:

Each winner will be awarded a trophy

Exchange tour in Hong Kong:

A: Non-local winners will receive sponsorship for a four-day-three-night trip arranged by the organizer, including participation in the worldwide Memorial Ceremony for Confucius and the Awards Presentation Ceremony of this competition in Hong Kong.

B. Local winners will participate in the Worldwide Memorial Ceremony for Confucius and the Awards Presentation Ceremony, and join the exchange tour with the non-local winners, and participate in the exchange tour for at least one day at their personal situations.
